1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Volume Shader ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to all the terms and conditions, you may not access or use the Service.

2. Description of Service

Volume Shader is a free, browser-based GPU benchmarking tool that measures graphics card performance using volumetric ray marching techniques. The Service includes:

  • Real-time GPU stress testing and performance measurement.
  • A public leaderboard displaying aggregated benchmark results.
  • Individual GPU performance pages with comparative analysis.

3. User Conduct

You agree not to:

  • Submit falsified or artificially manipulated benchmark results.
  • Attempt to exploit, hack, or reverse-engineer the benchmark algorithm.
  • Use automated scripts to submit bulk benchmark data.
  • Interfere with or disrupt the integrity of the Service.
  • Impersonate another user or device.

4. Benchmark Data Ownership

When you submit a benchmark result, you grant Volume Shader a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use, display, and analyze that data for the purposes of operating the leaderboard and improving the Service. You retain ownership of the underlying hardware that generated the data.

5. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. We do not guarantee that:

  • The Service will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free.
  • Benchmark results are perfectly accurate or comparable across all hardware configurations.
  • The leaderboard rankings reflect real-world gaming or professional performance.

6. Limitation of Liability

IN NO EVENT SHALL VOLUME SHADER, ITS OPERATORS, OR AFFILIATES BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING OUT OF YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE. This includes, but is not limited to, damages for loss of data, system downtime, or hardware stress.

7. Modifications to Service

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue the Service (or any part thereof) at any time without notice. We may also update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

8. Fair Use Policy

The benchmark tool is intended for personal, non-commercial use. Commercial entities wishing to integrate Volume Shader data into their products or marketing materials must obtain prior written consent from us.

9. Third-Party Services

The Service may contain links to third-party websites or services. We are not responsible for the content, privacy policies, or practices of any third-party sites.

10. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the jurisdiction in which the Service operator is based, without regard to conflict of law principles.
